Junior High School

Where Leadership, Independence, and Purpose Take Shape

The Junior High years are a time of increasing independence, self-discovery, and academic growth. At CJA, students are challenged to think critically, ask probing questions, and take greater ownership of their learning while developing the confidence and skills needed for success in high school and beyond.

Through our dual curriculum, students engage deeply with both the Alberta curriculum and Judaic Studies. Small class sizes and skilled educators provide opportunities for individualized instruction, leadership development, student voice, and making connections within the classroom and school community.

Students strengthen their skills in language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, Hebrew, and Judaic Studies while developing critical thinking, collaboration, communication, organization, and time-management skills. Enrichment opportunities, options, leadership experiences, athletics, experiential travel studies, and co-curricular activities encourage students to explore their interests and discover their strengths.

As students mature, they deepen their understanding of Jewish identity, traditions, values, and responsibility to community. They are encouraged to become thoughtful, respectful, and engaged citizens who contribute positively to both Jewish and broader society.

CJA’s Junior High program is designed to prepare students for future success. Our Junior High program ensures that students are well prepared, academically confident, engaged in learning, and ready to contribute both inside and outside the classroom. Students leave Grade 9 with the skills, habits, and resilience needed to thrive in a variety of high school pathways.
